MadeForMums tested the Cybex Avi Spin for us and was able to go on a test run with one of Australia's best middle distance runners, Genevieve Gregson who recently became mother to her daughter. We asked her what she thought about the pram and if there was anything that could be improved.
The Avi Spin is a fantastic all-terrain stroller that offers the flexibility a modern family requires from the first day. The front swivel is unmatched in its maneuverability around city corners and the air-filled tires offer comfortable cushioning while strolling through the city or taking nature walks. The swivel is lockable for additional stability when in rough terrain or while running. The fully reclined seat is designed to provide a comfortable lie-flat position that is suitable for babies from birth. The one-pull strap makes it easier to get in and out, while the compact folding design makes it simple to store and transport. Wheels can be removed to make smaller fold. It's unfortunate that the brake lever is located on the right-hand side of the handlebar, as this could make it difficult to operate with a single hand.
Out N About Nipper V5
With the Out N About Nipper V5, you can take your child on exciting off-road walks and jogging in total ease. Its lightweight frame, rear suspension and tyres with air-filled treads provide the most comfortable ride on all kinds of terrains, including city streets and scenic countryside routes. The single pushchair can be used from birth and, with the appropriate adapters, it could also be used as an entire travel system.
The V5 model is equipped with high-tech fabrics that are waterproof, a new peekaboo magnetic window, a new 5-point safety harness, and a faster one-handed fold mechanism. It also includes an umbrella and a basket. You can also buy an infant insert if planning to use your buggy starting from birth. You'll need to purchase the newborn insert separately if you plan to use the Nipper with an automobile seat.
The Nipper Double is towards the top end of the price scale for side-by-side prams, however, it is sturdy and durable and can be used from birth to about four years old. off terrain stroller is more expensive than other models due to the fact that it doesn't come with the option of a seat that is facing the parent and it is not compatible with car seats. However, it offers excellent maneuverability and is able to handle any terrain.
The user manual is very clear and easy to read. The only issues I have is that they're loud and clunky, and the Velcro used to secure them can make your baby scream. This is particularly a problem when you're walking in a quiet area of the park, and don't want to disrupt other parents. The absence of a storage compartment under the seats was also considered a disadvantage.
Britax Romer
Britax Romer, a prestigious company, is committed to "protecting dreams" and ensuring your child with the safest possible journey. They aim to make family travel more safe by providing car seats that are tested rigorously and last an extended period of time.
The Dualfix M i-Size is one of their car seats that's worth investing in. It's extremely easy to put in (it is able to snap right into the chassis, with a soothing sound) and will last your little one until they're 4 years old.
It features soft, deep side wings which cocoon your child to reduce the force of an accident. The high back design offers optimal head protection. It also features an innovative feature that lets you know when the seat is properly installed, giving you peace of assurance.
There's a tonne of other features too like intelligent lighting that alters colour to show when your child is tired or hungry. There's also a ventilation window to keep your baby cool and comfortable. There's even an extra large hood with mosquito-proofing.
It's not cheap, and you may have to find a lower price if you want to use it right from the beginning. It's also very heavy, so you may require assistance to lift it into your car. The other thing is that there are a few small honeycomb-type exposed areas on the bottom of the seat where the vomit and spilled smoothies could move - you'll need to be cautious when your child is prone to sickness.
